Monday Meal Ideas: School holiday cooking

We have woken up on a dark and misty Monday morning with rain softly falling outside and the crackle of the fire keeping us warm inside. It’s SCHOOL HOLIDAYS which means that we have no where to be, no where to go (lots of work for me to do) and boy does that make me happy.

What will wear off in a few more days time though, is the request for food, and lots of it. I try and make substantial lunches that will make them happy as well as baking on the bench and LOTS of fruit. SO many platters of fruit. Here are some of my holiday favourites that I know will get a run this week:

Spinach & cheese gozleme
Pork & Chorizo sausage rolls
Vegetarian frittata
Chicken quesadillas

And of course for the baking treats!

LEMONADE SCONES
WILD APPLE CARAMEL CRUMBLE
BANANA BREAD
DATE LOAF
CHOCOLATE CAKE
CHOCOLATE PUDDINGS
PIKELETS
LEMON DELICIOUS PUDDING
LEMON SOUR CAKE
CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE
BAKED CHEESECAKE

or how about these lemons seeing as how I have so many?

LEMON MERINGUE PIE
LEMON SYRUP CAKE
LEMON DELICIOUS PUDDING
LEMON CURD
SOUR LEMON CAKE

And also very good!

CHEAT ARROWROOT COOKIES
NO FAIL PAVLOVA
HOT CINNAMON DONUT CAKE
LEMONADE SCONES

Hope that the week ahead is a good one for you all. For those with kids back to school this week I hope the routine doesn’t bite too much, and for those that work from home I hope it’s productive. For the rest of us with kids at home still – enjoy the time together – I know we will. It’s a juggle but I do love the quiet pace and being at home in pj’s all day. We will be doing lots of that. Have a good one friends x
