Monday meal ideas: Bake me a cake!

I went searching through all my CWA cookbooks on the weekend for a recipe for those sweet little mushroom tarts (alas I couldn’t find it) but I did get a serious hankering for some baking. So many cakes to bake! I think this week I am going to attempt something new. Well, I’ll try at least.

Here’s some ideas I have on the blog. Let’s bake a cake!

Anne (chocolate cake)
Cinnamon tea cake
Lemon delicious pudding
Lemon syrup cake
Lemonade scones

    Your cinnamon tea cake is the best. I feel that I make it once a week and it all gone by the next day. Love Anne as well and anything with lemon is yummy. Have a great week

    Ah Beth, reading your post about mushroom tarts reminded me that I had a bag of mushrooms that needed using up, so here I am preparing a Mushroom, goats cheese and tomato (homegrown) tart with salad for a nice light dinner tonight.
    Your list of yummy cakes will also be getting a whirl this week, especially as the dear little lemon tree is heaving with massive fruit just itching to be included in one of my baking frenzies. Thanks for the inspiration ( and recipes of course)
    Enjoy the school hols next week, kids really do grow up so quickly. I used to have the grandsons around here helping with the baking, mess everywhere, more sprinkles on the floor than on the biscuits, but I cherish those wonderful memories especially as they are now living 1200 kms away.

  7. My mum used to make mushroom tarts all the time when I was little. She took great pride in the number of tarts she would get from the recipe. 5 dozen was good, 6 dozen was great. It was a great conversation between the mothers.
    They were the ones with the fake cream she would buy from the cake shop. My job was shaking the nutmeg on and sticking the little sticks in. Didn’t I get I trouble when the sticks ran out because I had snuck some!
