Full & Thorough Reporting

OK, full debrief is essential don’t you think? So much been going on and  even though I have been around, I thought a good old fashioned update was called for. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

I am 100% not going to talk about the fact that it was a year yesterday since Rob and I arrived in New York OK? Not talking about where a year goes, or what fun we had, or how can it even BE? Not going to OK? Good. Glad we got that sorted.

Fuck man, not a care in the world. Except to take in some spring sunrays on the Highline. Shit.

It was indeed our 13th wedding anniversary yesterday, and I know this because my anniversary tree tells me that there are now 13 leaves on the tree. As well as my 3 little birdies for our 3 little birdies.

I asked Daisy to sew on the new leaf (it’s the blue one on the far left) she did a good job and it means that I don’t have to do it.

I share our wedding anniversary with my little sis who was married on the same day (a few years later). We were both going to babysit for each other (I’d take lunch, them dinner) but because of money (lack of) kids etc etc I decided to host dinner at our place. It was a simple dinner of lasagne (feeding 9 of us) and the kids ran around the place trashing the joint while we pretended to enjoy ourselves at the table drinking wine and chatting while putting out constant fights etc etc. Ah married life with little kids!

Do you love the tablecloth from Peacocks & Paisleys (on sale at the mo too)? And the napkins are from there too. Loving the Indigo colour at the moment…I’m whacking it everywhere. I also have some Easter  tablescaping ideas over on Instagram at the moment too – which funnily enough feature INDIGO. Go and check it out the album here.

Hard to get good staff these days.

And can we please take a moment to check out the earrings that Rob bought me for our anniversary? I LOVE these so much. They are from Wolf & Moon in the UK (East London), he bought them from the only stockist in Australia the gals from Made by Others.

Love these so much. Well played Bert, well played. I do love that man…FLASHBACK TO CROATIA!

And no one panic, I am getting my eyebrows and hair done tomorrow and Thursday.

Now I need to back up just a moment….last week I totally went to Brisbane to go see Ed Sheeran with the gals from Paging Fun Mums. It was great fun. Also got to catch up with Nikki who happened to be going to same night. Drank way too much cheap Sauvignon Blanc and had a hangover that was 9/10.

Came home and spent plenty of time over the weekend mowing the lawn. DEEPLY satisfying.

There have been late flushes of roses everywhere, and along with the recent rain we have had it’s looking lush around these parts.

And cold! Just 1.3 degrees out there this morning and even a very light dusting of frost on the lawn this morning. Must get some firewood delivered soon. Let the heating games begin!

We had another girls dinner on Thursday night too, but thanks to my 9/10 hangover I did not give it my all. It was a Bollywood theme – potluck with everyone bringing something and it turned out to be the most AMAZING Indian banquet for us all to enjoy, which incidentally reduced my hangover to at least a 3 or 4. THANK GOD.
