Monday Meal Ideas: Bake a great cake!

It’s not just the end product of a cake that’s the good bit about baking one. It’s starts at the lining of the tin, finding your favourite one, all clean and ready to start its magic again, the turning on of the oven, grabbing the ingredients and starting the creaming of the butter and the sugar. These simple steps that start the magic of turning a whole lot of ingredients into something special. I love love LOVE it – not to mention the end result when you have it cooking and smelling delicious in the oven…to cooling on the rack to icing and placing on your cake stand…there’s nothing like it!

Here are some of my favourite recipes for the week ahead…not limited to these of course. There’s always room for cake in your week…to lunchboxes, dessert and morning and afternoon tea, it’s just a good idea. Always!

Bitter Orange cake with candied fennel seeds
Cinnamon tea cake (aka donut cake)
Sticky Caramel Apple Tea Cake
Baked Cheesecake

You might also like any of these too!

Chocolate Sponge
CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE
YOGHURT CAKE WITH APRICOTS
BANANA BREAD
DATE LOAF
CHOCOLATE CAKE
LEMON SOUR CAKE
GINGER FLUFF
LEMON SYRUP CAKE

How’s your week ahead looking? I have a LOT of work to do after the trade shows working out budgets and photo shoots and orders that will be coming in…I actually can’t believe that spring will be here soon enough and then onto Christmas…this retail business has me months ahead of where I usually am and the year just seems to be flying by. Other than that lots of time at home trying to get the garden cleaned up STILL from out hedge that is still needing work, doing some pruning that is long over due and trying to get out into the sunshine and get some walking done. Busyness and being away does not make for a healthy diet!

Hope you have a good one friends…may your washing basket stay in order, your kids sleep well and you get some time to yourself…somehow! x
