After getting some deadlines done this morning and Daisy proudly declaring that she was onto her 6th episode of Merlin on the iPad I decided it was time to get out of the house…and fast. We went for a walk into the village to the park at School were we caught up with some friends for a play, saw some other friends riding their horses and then hobbled home again (OK I hobbled).
The village is looking GLORIOUS in all its Autumn splendour. So many reds this year…maybe because of the good rain we have had? In any case every tree (that hasn’t been massacred by the tree cutting service that has just gone through town making sure there is enough clearance for the power lines that is) is red or yellow, orange or still to turn. Most of our trees at home are all still green, but there’s plenty of colour out there.
Has Autumn arrived at your place yet?
It truly is a beautiful time of the year don’t you think?
I need to see a picture of tidy corner please!
Oh Woogsie, Tidy Corner is in DISREPAIR! It was sold last year and is empty waiting to be knocked down or renovated and the garden is anything but Tidy!
Glorious is right! So gorgeous. We just have green trees around here. No autumn colours at all. But I am loving the autumn nip in the air in the evening.
We had a definite nip last night…down to 5!
love the photos I went to berry on Sunday to try and find some autumn colours to photograph but there was nothing like this??? what street is the third photo from the bottom?
Maybe it’s still too warm down there? That’s the main street, Hoddle St.
Magnificent!
Isn’t it?!
Autumn down Canberra way too! My favourite season ☺
Mine too!
Oh Beth,

We’re to far north in NSW for real autumn colour but we are slowly making our way down the New England to Canberra. I’m absolutely loving the autumn colours and so far we’ve only got to Coonabarabran!! Now I’m hoping for some cold weather to put on my winter coat.
It’s chilly here this morning…hope you are enjoying a cardi moment!
Thank you for the walk so pretty,no it’s much cooler at night and in the mornings but no sign of autumn on my Japanese maple yet!
Soon hopefully!
That’s one thing I love about your neck of the woods, is all the colours at Autumn time..beautiful pics 🙂
Thanks…I love the actual seasons here.
Oh Baby Mac what town do you live in? It looks so beautiful and I thought I would have to go to Connecticut to see beautiful scenery like that and here it is in our wonderful country.I live in country South Australia which tends to be hot and dry. x

We spent the weekend in Canberra and drove there and back through the Highlands and oh, the joy of the colours. All the colours! Be still my beating heart. Autumn was everywhere and it looked awesome. We also used your Southern Highlands Eating Guide as our pit stop bible and we thought your tips were top! What a beautiful place to call home!
Oh that’s great to know!
It looks like such a magical place to live, especially since you refer to it as “the village”. Beautiful shots!
Thanks Vicki…it’s very pretty and we are very lucky to call it home 🙂
Oh Beth, thank you for the walk through your village. It is glorious! I can hear the leaves crunch under your feet. No sign of Autumn in Brisbane yet. Maybe we’ll get the memo by winter! x
Hope you get some respite soon x
