Faux Fuchsia comes to dinner

I have long been a fan of the lovely Faux Fuchsia. She is hilarious, smart, stylish and not to mention GORGEOUS. She bakes, entertains, applies lipstick and nail polish like I can only dream of and cushions with superior grace and expertise. Yes, I’m gushing…you would too. I was quite beside myself to be able to meet her in person last night at a lovely dinner hosted here at Nikki’s place. Caitlin from Mother Down Under also joined us for the evening – I was lucky enough to meet Caitlin at Problogger last year and she was my insider when Mrs W and I headed to New York – she was so helpful in giving us lots of inside info.

Nikki and Mr SY trotted out a delightful dinner party for us all. Some champagne to start with a retro prawn cocktail, then some amazing chicken on the BBQ with sweet potato wedges (tossed in maple syrup, nutmeg, olive oil and salt and pepper) and Jamie Oliver’s French peas. Dessert FF herself whipped up one of her trademark baked cheesecake…gluten free nonetheless for Nikki.

What a lovely evening it was! The chance to meet bloggers in person who you have admired for many a year is a wonderful privilege. I sat back and thought last night about this funny online business. The people it’s led me to, the places I’ve been to, the things I’ve seen and done. Quite something really.

Now if you will excuse me, I have left over cheesecake that needs seeing to.

  10. What I would have given to be at that dinner party. You would have had to forcibly remove me from it by the end of the night!
