Sweet lovers love the Spring

And why wouldn’t they when it looks this good? Spring time in the village sure is a sight for sore eyes.

We’ve had the Manchurian pears flower first with the daffodils, jonquils and hellebores and then the tulips come, the bluebells, forget me nots, the irises and the wisteria, the clematis, the azaleas and the lastly the crabapples all ready to pop into their pink glory.

The garden where my sister is currently living is the most magnificent thing and right now it’s looking pretty fine. Of course the roses, peonies and hydrangeas and dahlias won’t be far off and that’s something else all together but on a sunny Spring afternoon it looks pretty good to me.

I swear I can smell that sweet wisteria if the spring breeze is blowing in the right direction…

And then there’s Maggie, obsessed with no shoes, swimmers and her dummy.

One day I hope to have a garden I can truly get stuck into. Have the vegetable patch I want, the pots and citrus, the beds of flowers to cut. I haven’t been able to make it work with small children and work and life, but one day I will.

How is your Spring garden looking?
I’ve got some bluebells and blossom and roses that look promising!
