Postcard: Cousin catch up time!

We arrived to my sister’s place where I have some happy girls on my hands. There are cousins! And toys! And room to just chill out and hang after a few days on the road. And for me there’s my sister! And Prosecco! And home cooked meals (last night she trotted out a chicken parma and apple crumble PRAISE BE).

After a great nights sleep we ventured out to the Yarra valley this morning for a run around in the sunshine. We didn’t really have a comprehensive tour – just a few spots – all dictated by one very bossy and tried 2 year old!

First stop was the Yarra Valley Chocolatarie for some superior hot chocolates and coffees & brownies in the glorious winter sunshine. What a gorgeous spot…Willy Wonka eat tour heart out!

Then onto Yering Station for a wander around and then onto a quick pub lunch before Mags crashed out in the car on the way back home. The kids are so happy being together, and it’s SO nice to be at my sister’s place for some time just to chill out.

Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s just about time for a Prosecco I think. Toasties for dinner tonight…time for some down time after all that time out and about. School holidays really are the best!

How’s your holidays going?
Anything else we need to be doing down here in Melbs with all these kids?

The zoo and healesville sanctuary are both great at this time of year (if it’s not raining) and best of all kids are free. The art gallery always has great activities for kids or check out Artvo at docklands – we had a great day out there recently!

  2. Artvo, an interactive Art installation at the Docklands. I haven’t been but I’ve seen friends’ photos on FB and it looks amazing.

  4. Yarra Valley is such a gorgeous area. The Choclatarie was one of our most favourite places to visit while we were there. Best hot chocolate EVER. Enjoy your family time xx
