Tour guide Barbie

I’ve had Styling You and her family here for the past 2 days visiting our beautiful village and surrounds. And hasn’t the Highlands turned it ON? Amazing spring weather…so warm! Everything picture perfect. Yesterday afternoon we walked up to the pub for a Sunday sipper session in the perfect late sun. I whipped up a delicious dinner of slow cooked pulled pork in tacos with salsa and then today we had a cracking but busy day.

First stop on the agenda for Mr SY and the kids was Bradman Museum. While he was busily educating the girls on cricket, Nikki and I headed to my beloved Dirty Janes for a good look around and a visit to my favourite new cafe the tea salon nestled in amongst the market stalls. The most perfect pot of tea, coffee, pinwheel sandwiches and sweet treats. We were in heaven!

From there we ducked over to Moss Vale to visit my other favourite Made by Others and then lunch at Bernies and a wander around the gorgeous tulips.

Some work took place this afternoon before some afternoon drinks in the unseasonably warm weather. A visit from Mr & Mrs Munroand then a lovely dinner. The kids and adults have had such a lovely time – what a joy it is to spend time with people from behind the computer screen. I feel very lucky indeed that I have so many good friends from this funny old computer.

I have written some Southern Highlands Guides on Where to stay, and Where to shop & Where to eat.

Did you have a good Monday?

Comments

  1. Looks lovely. I freaking adore that Dirty Janes. The coffee shop looks great – is it new? xx

  2. What a Monday (and Sunday)! My Monday wasn’t anywhere near as lovely as yours but I’m feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve eve knowing I get to see Nikki in my hometown of Rads on Wednesday!

  3. Love a good cup of tea in a cute china cup. So glad the weather is fine and the highlands are showing off for Nikki and her crew. Thinking of bringing the kids down to see the tulips over the long weekend.

  4. Great Monday here. Sunny, warm day – perfect weather for writing about dark thoughts. So glad you got to be Tour Guide Barbie this weekend.

  5. It’s nice when a visitor forces you to get out and enjoy your own town isn’t it? Those tulips are divine!

  6. Ridiculously I spent my Monday pulling everything out of my school kitchen garden and reorganizing my library (on my school holidays!!! Sad but true!!). Last week my fam and I did a road trip to Edens place in Katoomba…yep! The people you meet online huh?! We are firm ‘fiends’ these days…online and offline. In fact…she’s texted me twice while I’ve been typing this. Ahhhhh blogs and what they bring to us!

  7. Lisa Mckenzie says

You’ve had a gorgeous couple of days Beth and I am sure Nikki and co have too xx

  8. Looks like you have all had a lovely time 🙂

  9. Thank you very much for having us … it’s been so beautiful, fun and full of laughs. x

  10. Love the Tea Salon! Mum and I went for our last afternoon tea before I headed back to the desert. So incredibly pretty and all that crockery! Divine!! Oh I miss the Southern Highlands, makes me homesick.

  11. I’m so looking forward to seeing Nikki in Radelaide tonight 🙂 I won’t be quite playing tour guide, but it will still be fun. Your village looks just gorgeous.
