Long, quiet & slow days

Besides our time up at the farm after Christmas, pretty much every day of the holidays we have done the same thing: and that’s a whole lot of nothing. Girls have spent many a day in their nighties, sometimes getting out of them for the bath, only to hop back into them again after. We’ve had sickness which means lots of time at home, but the girls are very happy here, playing with toys, doing all kinds of tutorials on YouTube from origami to how to draw this or that. Movies made on the iPad with their toys, dance routines worked on, books read, colouring in done and lots of just hanging out.

The best way to completely chill out.

While I might be going a little stir crazy with all this time at home, all this feeding, all the time, it’s really been what everyone needed. Some serious down time, home time.

  1. NEXT WEEK!?!

  2. Sounds a lot like our holidays. I had good intentions of doing lots of socialising big I think what we all really needed was some quiet family time at home. Plus, with my 2nd starting kinder in 2 weeks I just wanted to selfishly enjoy the time (some days more than others) with her and her big sister while they are home during the day. Your holidays sound perfect.

  3. I am hearing you sister! Down time has been so needed here too, given us a chance to get back on top of things and feel in control again.

  4. the best holiday I reckon. We have done much the same and spent a lot of time at home, but I’ve sorted years of photos, decluttered, sorting my life out! Two back to school tomorrow, me next week, last kid still has two weeks to go! Has been a fab summer getting stuff done and relaxing!

  5. Yep we have been a bit lazy of late too. Not sure I’m ready to go back to the chaos next week. It’s been lovely chilling out.

My son is sick too. A flu.We stuck at home. Thanks God, outside is freezing -5 during the day. Within almost 1 week we start winter holiday. Can you imagine???

  11. Oh my, that baby girl!!! Adorbs ❤️❤️We’ve done a bit of both- socialising and relaxing at home with my little four. Not ready to get back on the merry-go-round just yet. Not good when it’s difficult to get to a 10am play date on time and school starts at 8:15!! Better get with the program ? Xxx

    • I need to start implementing earlier bed times and a bit more structure in the next week for sure – otherwise it’s a rude shock for us all!
