Long lunches

On Sunday we were kindly invited to our friends Jules & Arthur’s place for a Fathers Day lunch. It is SO nice to be invited somewhere when you are usually the ones doing the inviting and I was particularly keen to check out their beautiful garden that is looking picture perfect right now.

What I was NOT expecting was the world’s best dish that have EVER been served up to my children. EVER. I mean, really! Have you EVER? They (and I) were positively beside ourselves when a polar bear on a raft was served up to them. Never have bangers and mash looked so good!

We had a delicious goat tagine, some rice pudding with rhubarb and persian floss for our dessert and for entertainment we had doves, chickens, dogs, ducks and guinea fowl running around to keep us entertained. It may well have been one of the best afternoons the girls had in some time!

I have been inspired by Arthur’s work of art for the kids…do you get creative with feeding the kids? I must say I am a bit slack and got for the “you get what you get and you don’t get upset” option when feeding mine!

I’m a bit with you on the take it or leave it side. It is cute tho.

  5. Omg – where do these people find the time to make such amazing treats for their children. I’m lucky Max is just starting solids – can’t expect much from puréed pumpkin…and the fact that it will probably be spat out once or twice. Shari from http://www.goodfoodweek.blogspot.com
