Winter Wonderland

They always say that the June weekend is the coldest weekend down here. I just put on my gumboots and took a walk. And it’s cold. Almost minus 2. But it’s so breathtakingly beautiful, and wintery out there.

Once the frost melts it’s busy busy finalising things for the ball tonight. My little sis and her husband will be here in a few hours, nails to do etc… Still haven’t decided which frock will be worn but I know it’s going to be a great night and I hope we raise some money to heat our little hall. I’ll be sure to take lots of photos, it looks almost as good as it does out there!

Hope you all have a fab Saturday.

  11. There is a definite beauty in winter isn’t there? I miss it being up here in outback Qld πŸ™ I don’t think I could ever live ‘up north’ – I grew up in Gippsland and even going ‘north of the divide’ to live for three years was a change! The dry heat away from the coast and the mountains was so foreign. As a little girl I never believed in the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy (not sure why??) but was a HUGE believer in Jack Frost! I imagined him dancing across our Gippsland hills in the night painting the scene with crisp sparkly frost. We would walk out to the bus stop on the country road we lived on early each morning, crunching through the frost (and sometimes snow!) Frost brings me great childhood memories. Enjoy your ball Beth x

  12. Beautiful photos! Was much like that at our house this morning but I put my uggies in and cracked up the heater!

  21. It’s strange. You have minus 2 and we have plus 22. It’s nature!

  22. WOW! These shots capture the frostiness beautifully lady.
We were down in your neck of the woods today, went to Bowral for the day. It is SO beautiful in the highlands. I can totally see how you fell in love and wanted to spend the rest of your lives there.
Getting my tree trunk of a husband to uproot and move there would be damn near impossible though… so I’ll just have to settle for a road trip now and then xo

  23. Love these pics. I am so excited, we are coming down your way next month to do Calm Birth for the weekend. I can’t wait to experience winter your way. It is one of my favourite places although I have never been down during winter. x
