Weekend moments

My goodness a weekend goes by quickly. I swear something happens to time that makes it speed up Saturday and Sunday and then slow right back down at the start of the week. We had a lovely one: a morning tea in the village hall with Rob and his RFS crew, then a trip to Sydney for Mags and I for my 20 year School reunion. Yesterday was sweet Archie’s christening which gave Kate and Wills a run for their money. Well, if they had drizzly weather and held it in the backyard that is.

Superior food, company and of course delicious babies to squeeze.

My sister in law sent me this article this morning which I loved about spending time with families over extended periods of time on holidays. Loved it – and it’s certainly something that we try and do on our side of the family. It’s messy and exhausting and full ON but the memories that last are the very best gift we can have in life I reckon. We’re about to do this too when we are in Italy with Rob’s family…special memories that will be with us all forever.

How lucky we are.

Do you love red velvet cake as much as me?
Holiday with your family too?

  1. Look at Archie in those tights!
    Love it!

  2. That is the best article. So so true. I wish my family could pull this off but the truth is I’m the only one of my siblings who would be keen. We had our four nephews and nieces to stay for the weekend and it is so true. Things they’ve never told me before bubbled out as we washed dishes or planted vegetable seeds on a long Saturday afternoon. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Loved that article – rings true for general life as well. Reminds me to slow down and enjoy the just “being” around part and not wishing I had a better job, more ambition etc. What better job is there than just being around for your kids? Especially the teenagers!!! People forget that bit, that just when you think you can set and forget – it’s sometimes THE most important time to be around!

  4. Lisa Mckenzie says

    Beautiful post Beth Xx

  5. I totally agree about spending time together with your family. My Mum is one of six and every few years we all get together for a week. People think we’re mad but we all love it. This year in January there were 44 of us spanning four generations. Now that the the fourth generation is booming it’s lovely for my Gran to sit back and watch over all her descendants.

  6. Look at Archie in his gorgeous tights! Look at your mum with her gorgeous grandbabies! X

  7. Look at Archie in his tights! Bless! I love that photo of your mum with Archie and Mags. That’s the best! Viva Italia – the holiday countdown is on! x

  8. Oh Susie Q was in grandbaby heaven! Not many sleeps now, my friend!! x

  9. Where did you this baby beanbag from! Ohh I love it! Oh and Mags is beautiful too!
