It’s just ticked over a week we have been home with Maggie. The days seem to arrive and end so quickly without doing nothing at all except just the normal day to day stuff which now seems extraordinary because Maggie is here.
Everything takes so much longer though with a newborn. The fire has been on constantly, the couch and bed occupied with rugs and cuddles and baby vomit and poo explosions. The washing machine hasn’t stopped…I forgot how much washing you do with a baby. I haven’t stopped eating – an insatiable hunger and thirst that comes with breastfeeding that I had complete forgotten about.
There have been packages and gifts dropped in from friends and family, visits from Grandmas who bring baked goods and cook for us.
Maggie is changing before our eyes, growing each day if that’s possible and a constant reminder for me that while these newborn days can be a blur of feeds and juggling life again, it all moves so quickly and this will all be over before we know it.
The extraordinary ordinary, yes that feels about right for the first week home with a new baby.
How has your week been?
What are you liking this chilly Sunday afternoon?
It goes so fast but it feels like they have always been a part of the family. That is how I feel and we are now at week 14!! 14 weeks. How did that happen!! Maggie is just beautiful.
I know that’s what’s going to happen here too…all of a sudden it will be spring!
Beautiful! Can’t wait for those extraordinary ordinary days!!
Looks like everyone is settling in well. Maggie looks like such an old soul. So gorgeous.
Thanks Lauren ๐

Your images catch the beauty of your wonderful family. Just love looking at your photography. How lucky are your girls to have a real life doll to play with!
I know! Thanks Maggie x
On this Sunday afternoon I made a vat of beef and vegie soup and waited for my youngest ‘baby’ and her husband to visit. Bliss!!
Wonderful photos Beth of sisters chatting x

She is. And I swear she is smiling too!

Oh so much swoon! Look how your girls love each other already and they’ve only just met! Good to see Frank’s cute factor is still high!
Frank is not sure about Maggie…she is getting more attention than him!

Having 2 myself I know there isn’t much better!
There are few things better in life than a newborn in a grub rose stitched singlet! My nanna was ON them when I had my girls and still sneaks a grub rose or three onto their clothes every now and then. My week has been lovely- and crisp! Visiting Sydney, hanging out with literary types and hugging the shiz out of Eden FUCKING Riley. Am I even allowed to swear in the presence of Maggie?! And lastly…nice Tim Winto book there in that yellow basket…love me ‘The Deep’. I always look what books are in the backgrounds of your photos!
I’m so glad you had a lovely weekend – looked like a fab festival. And let’s not get started on that fried chicken!!
how do i tell my husband i want my own Maggie?
ha!
I am liking that you are so “with it” to be taking all these beautiful pictures and sharing them. You must be exhausted, and yet here you are, keeping us filled in. What a precious little girl, bonding with her sister. What exquisite little embroidered shirts.
Frank will just have to “make do” for a bit!
I don’t want to forget a moment of this time and a quick few photos didn’t take too long! Poor Frank he is the most jealous of all!
Amazing your getting a blog up – must be a great bub. Well done to you Beth. Loving this series on Maggie Mac.
She is very chilled out (for now!) x
Oh Beth, bringing back the memories from when my last baby was born! Three girls just divine ๐ Enjoy every moment if you can. Even washing those teeny tiny clothes and bibs I miss that!

Thank you lovely lady…how lucky we are!
This makes me excited once again to start our next IVF transfer. I’d lost that excitement and you have reminded me of all the things to look forward to so thank you for that ๐ Congratulations on the birth of your gorgeous daughter, what a wonderful family you have. xx
Oh good luck!! x
Gosh those first few blurry weeks…just divine. As I look forward to each of your new blog posts with much anticipation its becoming clearer and clearer to me… I’m not done!!! I thought I was, as hubby dod a u-turn and thinks he’s not..and maybe we’ve just found ourselves in the middle. Its been a big week of discussions for us! The weather in fnq is bliss and we’ve spent lots of time at the beach! And lots of time relaxing, cooking, painting and reading – Ruby Red Shoes (Abd Ruby goes to Paris) is on high rotation in this house being Miss4’s current fav!!
Oooh that’s exciting! Good luck with your decision making x
It’s like she’s always been there.. Maggie & the sisters & Frank & the fam. Beautiful Beth, just beautiful xxxxx
