One thing: the dodgy number

I found myself in a hardware shop this week. I don’t often go into them and so when I do I tend to get a little excited trying to remember all the little things that I often add to the “one thing” list that require going into a hardware store.

On this trip I managed to get some painters masking tape, a new lime tree for my friends, some spray for the black spot on my climbing icebergs that seem to always get it, and something I had been meaning to change for, oh a year or so. The perfect “one thing” for this week!

For those of you not playing along, #onething is where I do just ONE THING from my to-do list, but not your every day to-do list. Oh no, this is the list of non essential items that sort of kind of need to get done but it’s no biggie if they don’t get done until next week, or next month, or um, next year. Those things. Just one. Every week.

A new house number!

The old one had weathered and peeled and was pretty much illegible. This one was up and swapped over in under 4 minutes. I really should get into a hardware store more often, imagine the projects I’d get done!

Mind you, when I was out there I realised two more things that are on the list that need to be changed. The letterbox which needs fixing, and the gate that needs re-hanging, or a new pole, or some job that will require a professional to come in. This one thing really can be a contagious thing.

Do you like going into hardware stores?
Got a new project to work on?
What was your one thing this week?
Go choose something, right now, just have a look around and there will be something waiting…
