Six seems like a big deal. I noticed it with Daise and now I can see it with Harps. They just get big with 6. They lose some of that “little” that’s both sad, but exciting. You might get some more understanding. Some ability to process emotions and feelings, a slight shift.
Harper had a wonderful day. Our morning tradition of pressies on the bed, but this time with added baby who was THRILLED with the wrapping paper and envelopes. A day at school and an afternoon with her whole K-2 class (sure that’s just 11 of them) for games, afternoon tea and cake.
Daisy was given this poem by A.A Milne in a frame from my Mum when she turned 6 and this morning Harps and I read it too. You know she’s had every one of her birthdays here in our house?
When I was one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be six
now and forever.
I can’t wait to see Harper thrive in the year ahead. To see her more confident, and even more into her school work which she just loves. I hope she can cool some of the tantrums and fire and just be. Cause 6 is a pretty good place to be.
Beautiful. My big girl is 6 too and it really is a good place to be π
I hope so!
Happy Birthday Harper.
Growing up too fast. 6 is a big deal and I love her pressies and all her books. Wow so amazing she reads so much.
My little one is still 5, she wants to be 6, her tooth is wobbly and she is learning to read and write. It is sad when they grow but so wonderful when they become confident and are so full of life and learning.
You are an awesome mother, Beth, love the cake and the details and the balloon!
Have a great night.
Yamila
I agree – all going WAY too fast!
Oh my god that cake is mad good. My girls are lucky if I get M&M’s on top of a boring shaped cake. I had better not let them see these pics
Ha!
A very happy birthday to Harps. Hunter will be 6 a week before Xmas and I plan to have a small gathering a month before otherwise he kind of gets forgotten about in the Yule Tide chaos! Cake looks fab π

And maybe it’s the 3pm chocolate munchies sneaking up on me, but I just want to eat those piano keys, like, now!!
I gave them a red hot go. There was much of that milky bar block leftover…woozy!
Oh my big girls are turning 5 on Sunday! It really goes way too fast. Love your cake! My twins play the keyboard so they would love it!
