This is what I’m up to today. Baking canapes. Lots of them for the weekend. Pastry shells. Quiches. Bits and bobs. Cause that’s what happens when you are part of a community, you roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty. And get on with it. I’m using this recipe for the quiches but the filling is shallots, leek and mushrooms instead. and the pastry? Well its frozen, much to the dismay of Beverley.
How’s your Monday going?
As I sit and eat my ham and cheese toasty with homemade green tomato pickles…’Yummo’ to the quiches…Just stumbled upon your blog yesterday and I like it. Thats all!! ๐
Hi Elisha! So glad you found the blog and are enjoying it – thanks for letting me know!
You are such a domestic Goddess Beth( btw that is what I call myself after doing cooking or cleaning) I love that you have a community where you live it is a really good idea, more people should have communities like the olden days.
I am just faffling around today doing washing and all those fun chores that never seem to end.
You are too kind Lisa! It’s a great place to live…count my blessings every day ๐
Frozen pastry is one of those things that is just as good as real pastry. Like frozen peas are s good as fresh ones.
I’ve NEVER made my own pastry so I’ll take your word for it!!
Yum-diddly-um!!!
Made what felt like a billion of your mini quiches for my son’s christening a few weeks a go. They were a huge hit, although if I never see a mini quiche again it will be too soon! Claire
Wow! You’re a gun! I crave having such a close community. After my dinner of Weetbix, fruit toast and remnants of my sons 2 minute noodles I am drooling over those quiches ๐
