Oh my goodness. Today I looked at the date – the 30th! THE 30th! My little lady’s 9 months just passed me by with no mention. How remiss of me. Please excuse me Harper and all of her fans.
The little lady is now 9 months (and a few *ahem* days). This past month has seen a HUGE change in her well being and health. She has finally gotten better – huzzah! Well, as better as she can be. Her eczema still drives her (and me) bananas but we (kind of) have it under control. The gal has herself 7 teeth and the most stubborn 8th tooth that is causing all kinds of misery for her (and me). She whines. She cries. She dribbles. She chomps down on that one spot with anything she can find. She STILL wakes at least once a night. Which is very boring and I really kind of hoped we might be past this by now. But all sorts of googling tells me that 9 months can be particularly revolting for sleep as they reach all kinds of developmental milestones AND grow teeth. Nasty. We do ignore her, and she does eventually go back to sleep, but come on! Just one night! All the way through? Coooooome on! She is all over the mental milestones – like waving, peak-a-boo and even pointing and clapping and all that jazz – but do you think she wants to move around? Nuh huh, no sirree Bobby Joe. She will sit. And she is happy to sit. And she will occasionally go on her stomach but only if she is in the exact right kind of mood and she most certainly will NOT put any weight on her legs. I (think I remember) Daisy being the same – she didn’t even crawl until she was 1 and then didn’t walk until she was 17 months – so perhaps she is the same? In any case, I won’t stress about it…yet…and with all the moving and cleaning if I have a baby that stays put, then that’s a good thing. She has also put on weight and is eating like a champ. She is getting less gaggy (is that a word) with chunks and I am sure will be eating toast in no time at all.
She’s just perfectly edible that child…
She looks just adorable in her little jeans.
I was just thinking that it’s about time 6 month old Charlotte slept through the night – you’re not giving me much hope for that!

I like the “longer out than in” notion. 🙂
