On Sunday, after we had spent Saturday with both families for THE party, we celebrated my niece Ava’s christening. It was a lovely day spent with the family, eating good food and drinking good wine. My brother and sister in law host some pretty serious family get togethers – like 50 adults, 30 children type sit down things. Honestly, I don’t know how they do it. I was exhausted from helping them out clearing up – who knows how they were by the end of it. Daisy had a BALL. Like, the best time I think I have ever seen her have (maybe even more so than her party the day before), playing with all the kids, eating cupcakes and whatever else she could get her hands on, playing in their little house and going up and down the slippery dip a gazillion times. But by the end of the weekend we were all seriously tried, collapsed into bed tired. And the best thing of all was seeing my sister (who was also Ava’s godmother) and her little girl Alice who flew up from Melbourne for the weekend – it had been 3 months since I had seen her – and I know it will probably be the same again till I see her again…and I miss them both already.
