Saturday was spent at home and at various parks around our neighbourhood. Now that Daise is on the move we have to plan to exhaust her and in the confines of our small courtyard she can only do so much so we have to visit all of the many parks around us. Fortunately in the area there are so many to choose from, all with great equipment and usually cafes close by for the parents. Sat night was quiet at home glued to the TV and watching Olympic events.
Sunday we had the Nicholls family over for a Sunday Roast. I can’t tell you how much I love to host a Sunday lunch for friends. It reminds me of when I was growing up – we always had people over for Sunday lunch – it was a great way to spend the day with friends or cousins, eating good food, drinking good wine and turning the house into the biggest mess before the end of the weekend. We had a lovely long lunch and the girls played together brilliantly. They get along so very well which meant that the parents could have a few wines and chat like normal adults! The lunch extended through to dinner and bath time which really was like the lunches we used to have growing up. I am sure there will be many more of these afternoons in the future (well I hope so anyway).
Not much on for the week ahead. I will be trying to save save save for the trip at the end of the year which means a concerted effort to not get take away, stay at home and generally law low – shouldn’t be too far off my normal life! It’s my b’day on Saturday so we are having a family dinner (with all my fam) and then one more week to go before we head up to the Blue Mountains for a week. Glorious…a week off work…to say I am looking forward to it is an understatement!
