It’s been a busy week or so in the life of Miss Daisy May. We have had a trip to emergency last week – she was bitten by mosquitoes at daycare last week and had some sort of reaction to them where her little hands blew up and were all swollen. When she woke up the next day I took her straight up to the RPA like a paranoid mother. They think that it was just a reaction and they should get better soon. They are looking better now but have taken a week to look like bites rather than some sort of nasty swollen, puss like boils. It’s also very handy having the hospital within walking distance to home. Daise was quite impressed with the adventure at 6.30 in the morning and was particularly taken with the ER doctors who liked to play peek-a-boo with her!
We also managed a trip up to EIEIO last weekend so we had our first real road trip with the little lady. Although we have done the trip before, she was very little and slept most of the way. We were anxious this time as we didn’t know how she would go but she was a champ! We had a stop along the way – in a park nonetheless – how grown up! Daise had her first go on the swings (by herself and with Dad) and also on the slippery dip.
Our time at the farm was fantastic – very relaxing for all! We can’t wait to get up there again at Christmas and really get into the swing of things. Daise used Nala and Fauxma’s (Rob’s dad Alan and his partner Sue) highchair and cot and LOVED sitting outside eating all her meals with us. She had for the first time – pasta (not so impressed) avocado (loved it) ham (liked it but surely this will develop into a deep passion if she is anything like her Mum and Dad) vegie toast (LOVED LOVED LOVED it) a ginger nut biscuit (REALLY loved it) and canellini beans (so so). She seems like such a big girl these days – so alert and seems to know what is going on. There was lots of laughing and looking at the trees and birds and Minx the dog who she was very interested in. She also managed her first crawl – it was on the bed and backwards so I don’t know if that counts but we are going to mark it as her first. She was very happy as she backed it up and did a PERFECT reverse park between the pillows! So it was a great time and we can’t wait to get up at Christmas and get in the new pool that they have put in. Sue’s Mum Micky is also now living up there and it was great for her to spend time with Daise. A Great Grandmother for the little girl – how lucky is she?
So back to work and I think that we will be busy as ever till Christmas. I can’t believe that Daise will be 9 months old in a few weeks time. We went and visited Rob’s cousin Kellie yesterday who has just had a little boy Will. It reminded me of Daisy when she was born. I can’t believe that the time has gone as fast as it has. Rob and I are always asking ourselves where our baby has gone? It’s hard to believe that she will never be a baby again – it really does go just so fast!
