Monday Meal Ideas: the warmth of chilli

Man is it cold here at the moment. Beautiful, sunny days (that seem endless where is the poor rain for all the farmers?) but freezing (literally) nights and mornings where we churn through the wood and the heating seems to be on endlessly. It’s rinse and repeat for weeks on end. So this week I am going to warm us all up with a hit of chilli in our food: it’s one way to do it!

Here’s some inspiration to get you going for the week ahead:

Pork & chive dumplings
CHILLI TUNA DIP WITH DUKKAH
CHILLI PRAWN LINGUINE
CHILLI & COCONUT ROAST CHICKEN

This week we have the girls back at school for term 3! I’m looking forward to not hearing fighting. Usually they get their shit together and end up liking each other, but not these holidays, it’s been endless fighting and bickering and just plain nastiness, it’s not much fun for anyone. So I’m looking forward to some peace but not so much the endless extra curricular stuff and driving around in the cold as well as keeping a toddler entertained without a sister in sight. Oh the balance of it all.

Until then, I will stay in my pjs as long as I can and enjoy the last day of our holidays. Rob heads away today for the week too so I’ll take a lazy day while I can. Also I have a trip to Brisbane on the weekend for Nikki’s 10th blog birthday…hope to see some of you there!

OK Monday, let’s do this.

Comments

  1. Happy Term Three lovelies! How wonderful to have Archie and Dots around the corner for when those no-sister days get too much. My four have been back for two weeks in Qld. I miss our lazy holiday days but right now am sitting in a cafe, enjoying my coffee- blessedly alone- and that is fab, too ๐Ÿ˜‰. Enjoy your pj day! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

  2. Thanks for the dumplings recipe Beth. I must try making some, now that I can no longer grab a (salt laden) bag from the freezer section and make your glorious, speedy, virtuous wonton soup.

  3. Thank you for all the recipes you share. My teens, husband and extended family love everything Cook using your recipes. Made your apple crumble recipe yesterday! Delicious! Everyone loved it.
I tell everyone to google your blog and search the recipes. Thanks again. Den xx
