Bonkers in Honkers: Part 2

Last night we hit the town and headed into Central for a drink at one of those iconic Hong Kong rooftop bars. On the recommendation of a few people we headed to Sevva with the most gorgeous interiors and soft furnishings and green walls. I don’t think you would ever get sick of seeing all those bright lights…we walked out onto the terrace and I was blown away. So many lights! Superior people watching! Cocktails. For a Tuesday night it went alright.

We then wandered the streets with all the ghouls of Halloween before grabbing another drink and something to eat and getting to bed. 10kms in my new shoes…these Beth’s go alright!

This morning we got up and grabbed a good coffee and breakfast in Wan Chai before walking back into Central to the pier to grab a ferry over to one of the outlying islands Peng Chau. Talk about a change of pace…not many people like us there that’s for sure. It reminded me a lot of Korcula in Croatia…a small coastal island with families going about their business, a few shops and a school. And birds! We loved having an explore and seeing a completely different side to Hong Kong.

I cannot get enough of all these colours, textures, patina….

Now we are back at the hotel resting the feet before hitting the town again in an hour or so. Tonight we are headed over to Kowloon for a drink and maybe dinner, then perhaps some shopping for the girls before we head home tomorrow…this time tomorrow we will be at the airport ready to head home.

What a wonderful whirlwind its been! I tell you, there’s NOTHING like a little travel to feed the soul, mind and guts!

We had drinks at Sevva.
We tried to get into dinner at Ho Lee Fook in Central.
We got a coffee from Coffee Academics in Wan Chai.
We had breakfast at Classified in Wan Chai.
We visited Peng Chau.

Love Honkers!!! Hubby works there on and off during the year. Such a great place to unwind and explore. It’s funny, we both hate crowds but love being in Honkers – go figure…. try and coincide visits with rugby sevens which is crazy fun. Took kids over a few years ago. So safe and they loved HK Disney and Ocean Park. The flower festival is a fabulous time to visit too.
