Full Maggie update: 2 years 1 month

At 2 years and 1 month, Maggie is expert at drinking milkshakes and baby cinos.

She’s very busy, all day, every day and quite frankly is so cute I sometimes want to squish her until her head pops off. That’s weird I know.

M’lady likes to take to the couch of an afternoon with her dummy (she’s still addicted and I know I have to deal with at some stage). As you can see, life is truly difficult for her.

She also likes an apple chopped up post bath before bed.

Her two favourite people/animals in the world are Archie and Frank.

Although her sisters come a very close third place.

She does everything so completely, much in the way two year olds do everything. They are ALL happy. They are ALL sad. They are ALL mad or ALL excited or ALL tired or ALL awake. There’s no in between. It’s quite refreshing really, except when she is ALL losing her shit. That’s never fun.

She’s still waking in the night, maybe 3 nights out of 7 and I am STILL throwing a bottle at her, because she immediately goes back to sleep and the transaction takes about 90 seconds from go to whoa and I actually do it in my sleep. She’s still in her cot. And if she’s happy, I’m happy.

There’s an opening to send her to daycare with Archie for a day a week. The form has been sitting on my desk for weeks now, I can’t quite bring myself to fill it out. I know it will be good for her and me, but you know…last baby and all that.

Maybe next week I’ll fill it out.

Maybe not.

  3. What a beautiful collection of photos and you remind me of the joys of Tom and Jose and 2. It is so lovely you keep all these memories and day to day snippets, as you know, time flies!
Don’t rush daycare if you don’t have to, preschool at 3 was just right for Jose and I!!
    xx

  4. How impossibly cute she is. And Archie too. Not to mention Daisy and Harper. You have a wonderful bunch, and how neat that they live so close that they grow up together. Our family are spread out all over the world. ๐Ÿ™

  5. what a gorgeous little tyke beth!
    she is precious!
    much love m:)X

  6. I get it. I turned down a day care day this year. I think I’ll accept it next year for my sanity, but it will be harder for me than him I bet. Lovely to see your little doll growing up.

  7. She is a little Beth, full of cuteness and light.

  8. I still can’t believe you are one first name terms with DARCY FUCKING PROUDMAN!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Also, Mags is adorable x

  9. Don’t stress the bottle and dummy, Beth. My daughter had a bottle every night up to and including the first year of big school!! She was a poor eater and I was grateful that at least she had some nourishment.

Is Maggie out of nappies yet? My grand baby is nearly three and not. I think the nappies today are too comfortable. A sopping wet cloth nappy gave a bit of incentive in the old days.

  10. She is simply a darling…I have followed your blog for many years and just can’t believe she is now 2!!! ooh and 1 month….

    Oh, is that John Waters?

  11. Maggie is so squeezable! And don’t worry yourself over the dummy, I havent seen a kid at school with one yet. Or you can try what my husband did – snip the end off, wasn’t such a great idea!

  12. Oh my goodness how adorable is Miss Maggie at two!! Those jarmies and dressing-gown LOVE!! Liz xx

  13. That comment about m’lady and the chilled out pose on the couch with her dummy…so well captured. Made me go, “awww”. I seriously don’t think you will regret not sending her to day care. She will soon be going off to school. Enjoy the now xx

She is so gorgeous. I see your posts on Instagram and always say “oh Maggie” and my 18 and 16 year old children ask “who is Maggie” like they should know her too. I think I do as I have been following her gorgeous little life since she was born. xx
