Summer holidays {the recap episode}

I was feeling a little sad and reminiscent this morning, thinking about the great summer holidays that we’ve had, about how much I will miss spending time with the girls, the girls with each other and Frank with the girls. Then we had to go and get haircuts and back to school supplies and they were hitting each other in the car SO much and fighting SO much and Big W was SO feral that I feel a little closer to being OK with school being back tomorrow.

We have had such a lovely break. Boy did we need it, the end of last year for Rob particularly, was a stressful and busy time. The break to the farm and the beach was just what we needed. Plenty of time with family and friends, long days swimming, eating, reading and just being. The time I have had to rest has been the best and very much needed before the big few months we have ahead of us.

So thanks summer for the great memories. Please don’t be gone already (this miserable cold weather we have at the moment isn’t quite the summer we have been used to) and here’s to a very busy next few months. Hard to believe next summer holidays there will be a little one crawling about.

What was your summer holiday highlight?
Kids just about ready to kill each other?

  1. We had such a summery holiday and it seems fitting that the rain has been pouring down these past two days. We’re ready to go back to school now. x

    I am glad you had a lovely summer break Beth, all your pics look amazing.yes next will be different that’s for sure but in a good way xx

  3. AHHH … take me back. Was such a beautiful week we had with you. Thank-you!

  4. Your summer break looks great. Food, books, beach, friends, squishy baby, what more could you want ?. Our holidays were very quiet with my health being a bit dodgy before christmas & so needing to take it easy. My sister was kind enough to take my 12 year old with her family when they spent a few days with friends at the beach. She already has 4 girls from 2 to 8 so was nice enough to add one more girl to her holiday as we weren’t doing much. She took her along a few days ago too when she took her girls to the reptile park. My “baby” starts high school tomorrow. As hard as it is to see her growing up so fast I think she really needs to get back to school. The attitude we are seeing is starting to seriously cheese me off & being at home together every day is not helping her mood ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. O too funny Beth, – Big W – you poor thing, I can only imagine. Yep, my kids are going feral too, they are currently trying to make paper planes and lets just say it isn’t pretty and there are some serious tantrums happening (o look one just started crying because the other one hit him….. o dear lord give me strength). Loved all of your summer holiday photos, thanks for sharing x

  6. What a summer you’ve had (so far)! Beautiful memories for sure. x

  7. Tasmania was AWESOME. If you have not gone, you must. The food, the drink, the sights. Definitely on the must do list. I’ll be back for sure.

    I went into school today to set up…new school means starting from scratch and it was in an APPALLING state. Crap everywhere, stuff from the previous teacher who couldn’t be arsed cleaning/packing it up, every flat surface was dusty and filthy. Gonna have to get in there with the antibacterial wipes and go to town.

    • Tassie is on my list for sure! Can’t wait to get down there and explore it all. I had planned to do it March for our 10th wedding anniversary but then I got knocked up so the timing isn;t great…we’ll get there! Good luck with School x

  8. Our week by the beach was divine. No work, no computers just lots of fun. I hope everyone is fighting fit again.

    • It’s been a slow old road…so much snot…so little time before school! Daise is back tomorrow and Harps on Thursday hope a good nights sleep tonight turns a corner ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. lots of memorable fun times, with great holiday photos beth!
    hope the girls are feeling much better today! … love m:)X

  10. It’s winter here and I’ve really enjoyed reading your summer posts ๐Ÿ™‚
