Some stuff you might like

I am constantly getting emails from people about stuff. And there’s some great stuff out there, and then some not so great stuff that is usually being flogged by PR companies. The kind of stuff I like is the stuff from people like you and me, who have started a company or business or product and are having a crack. I like that stuff and I like those people and I always want to try and share their hard work with you. So here’s some stuff that you might like for Christmas because, you know, stuff is required it would seem.

Sandy Feet Swimwear

Lone (how cool is that name?!) created this Australian swimwear online store. Boys & girls ranges – rashies,Β boardies, Β one and two pieces, that are chlorine proof, SPF50 and cute that won’ fade or stretch over time! They are also generous in size which is what I like given I have gargantuan children.

You can see their entire range online here. And I have a discount for BabyMac readers too! Just enter the code BABYMAC for 15% off! (code valid for 3 days from 9th Decemeber 2014).

Cheekyscoots

Mum of 2, Brooke has started this company with these cute scooter accessories – combining two things little people love (mine included) scooters AND dinosaurs.

You can see their entire range online here. And I have a discount for BabyMac readers too! Enter the code BABYMAC for a 10% discount. (code valid until 19th December 2014).

Little Babble

Clive sent me an email because his lovely wife reads my blog. Hi Clive’s wife! I’m so glad he did too. For the past 6 months they have been working on this cute and quirky idea that used to be a hobby – bringing to life the crazy things kids say into beautiful illustrations. If only I had kept some of the things that the girls have said over the years…I would have had one made for sure!

You can see their entire range online here. And while they don’t have an online store set up just yet…just shoot them an email if you are interested saying that you found out about them from BabyMac for a 10% discount! (discount valid until Australia Day 2015).

Do you like this stuff too?

I bet you might know someone or BE someone who has a business worth sharing too right? Make sure you add a link into the comments below to support our fellow parents having a crack at business!

How’s that Christmas shopping going?
Mine was going well, and then appears to have stalled. Urgh.

Comments

  1. Loving the sandy-feet swimwear – hooray for long-sleeved rashies and low-cut legs for girls. (That makes me sound like a prude, doesn’t it?)

  2. What timing Beth! Just about to launch a new venture in my blog and do something creative! I’ve designed my own kids prints based on things my daughter says and things we love and do as a family! Called Happy Ella After Prints, it will launch this weekend via the print store accessible on my blog http://www.happyellaafter.com. Follow me on a Instagram for previews of my prints and giveaways in the coming weeks to celebrate xxxxx

  3. Woops meant to add I’m @happyellaafter on IG XXX

  4. Holy Grail Tees started by two of my Mother’s group mummies. Great tees with designs reflecting the essence of Australia without the Kangaroos and Koalas! My husband loves them, and my son does too!!

  5. Little Babble – how adorable!!!! Will definitely keep them in mind – my son comes out with some corkers πŸ˜‰

  6. Thanks so much for this opportunity Beth. I really do appreciate your support of small businesses. It is such a tough gig but so very rewarding too. After being struck down early last year with Graves disease, I became more aware of what was in our home whilst searching for ways to improve my lifestyle… The first thing that I noticed was that I had all of these gorgeous candles in gorgeous boxes and bottles but they all contained Paraffin or some other nasty chemical bi-products. Sadly those that never contained the chemicals, still contained Palm Oil. I had initially thought to produce my own candles but with so much time out needed with my illness, it was easy to work with someone whom I could trust to help me create a gorgeous product that I could feel safe and happy to use. With their help, Lilli and Maude homewares was created. We are still in our infancy but getting stronger by the day and stock a range of gorgeous candles as well as body washes and lotions that are Paraben and Grapeseed free + we are excited to be moving into a homeware range as well. Best of all, my health has improved also so there is no stopping us now. πŸ™‚ Please look for us on either FB https://www.facebook.com/lilliandmaude or at http://lilliandmaudehomewares.com/

  9. Lovely post Beth. My two clever cousins have both started business’ whilst home with little ones. Readers might like to have a squizz! Great chrissie pressies! Facebook.com/waxinajar for gorgeous soy candles and Facebook.com/petitformdesigns for beautifully made shadow boxes. Xx

  10. I recently started an Etsy shop selling my paper cut designs. The personalised family trees are particularly popular (your family names, all the grandkids names or whatever names you like can be put on a tree). http://www.etsy.com/au/shop/MyPaperPomegranate

  11. Little babble! So clever. Must dig up iPhone note of funny things the kids said.

My husband has just launched http://www.mistergoma.com.au.

Handmade recycled timber stuff including height charts. I do his PR but it’s late and I’m tired and that’s the best description I can come up with. He should get a new PR chick.

  12. I love good finds like this. How cute are those dinosaur scooters? There sure are some people doing awesome things. Now we haven’t got a ‘creative’ business as such, unless you call pruning vines an art form but we are small and we grow grapes that produces some really lovely wine. You can read a bit about it here. http://thewindmillpaddock.blogspot.com.au/p/tarzali-vineyard.html. My friend just used our Rose in a sangria recipe recently too and it was delicious.http://www.natashainoz.com/2014/12/its-5-oclock-somewhere-pomegranate.html.

  13. Thanks for sharing your great finds Beth, will have a squizz at them and the links in comments too, when I have a decent amount of time to enjoy surfing the web.

  14. Now those scooter would be so much fun for my boys! Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

  15. Love your finds and your blog Beth. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing and for giving your readers the opportunity to have a sharing moment too!
I am the owner/operator of Rockabye Baby Equipment Hire, based in Sydney. I started the business because there was a gap in the market for parents who wanted to hire nursery equipment but wanted the cool stuff! Most parents are quite savvy and know what the latest trends are in baby equipment and they don’t want a nanna pram and an old wicker basket so we meet that need offering a range of beautiful nursery equipment for hire, servicing both families at home and international families who are travelling to Sydney with their little ones and need anything from just a pram to an entire nursery set up in a hotel or home.
When I’m not doing that, I’m empowering other mums to become Mumpreneurs through my new course running at our Community College “Become a Mumpreneur”.
If there’s any southern sydney Mums about who’d like to come along definately enrol it’ll be a blast and you’ll come away from the course with a kitbag full of tools to get your business started.

Hey Beth! Love that swimwear range!! I’m totes the prudish one when it comes to covering my girls up (and I mean my children AND my breasts! lol)

My little business is Bold Badger Designs. Just plodding along via facebook at the moment. Hope to get website up and running in the new year. https://www.facebook.com/boldbadgerdesigns

Hope you’re feeling better this week. xx

  17. Thanks so much Beth, I’m a longtime everyday reader and have been looking for suitable bathers for my 10yr ALL over the internet and shops, jumped on Sandyfeet and ordered right there and then. Love the boylegs and rashies that are a bit more roomy for a-not-quite-teen yet. Thanks for the link x

Thanks so much for the opportunity for a shameless plug on your brilliant blog! I am a mum of 18 month old twins with a ‘surprise’ due in 3 weeks. I was feeling that I just wasn’t quite busy enough so I recently started up a business making baby play mats and framed Little Golden Book prints and selling them at the local market and online. My shop ‘Barney & Boo’ is on Etsy here:

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and impending arrival. Your post about the crazy hormones was hilarious! I can totally relate to that. As can my poor husband πŸ™‚

  19. Hi Beth,

Just purchased my second Cheekyscoot dinosaur of the week – thanks for the tip, they are perfect for my girls! Just wish I had bought 2 the first time around….
