I have been spending a whole lot of time inside lately. Mostly at my desk tapping away. I have been missing days that aren’t busy all the way to the brim. Those days where you don’t really have any plans. I know those days are coming up with our trip, but I do miss some lazy days.
This afternoon I got to spend a few hours at a mates family farm having a forage in their forest for some ideas for the ball coming up in 2 weeks time that we are organising (because, you know, organising a black tie fund raiser for 130 people seemed like a good idea at the time). It was SO nice to be outside. The sun on my skin. Breathing in outside air. Walking through the forest. My goodness it was a glorious afternoon…
It’s so important to get outside. ESPECIALLY when you are busy. Make sure you get some tomorrow OK?
I am going to a wedding tomorrow, I shall stand in the sun (I hope) and drink a glass of bubbly!
How wonderful…enjoy!
I work in a hospital, and a few years back worked in an area (chemo) that had no windows, so I would finish work having not even seen the outside for 8 hours. Regardless of the weather, I insisted that we sit outside on the patio when I got home so I could just “breathe”. Now I have a window (for now…) I still sit outside when I get home to breathe real air and not air conditioning and feel some warmth on my skin. It is a NEED, not a want π
Exactly Sara! It’s amazing how much better you feel isn’t it?
Love your photos. Beautiful. Is this farm in the Southern Highlands? What are those little golden lights or bubbles on the third last photo? Gorgeous?
I spent last Friday at the National Park here in Patagonia. I picked up owl pellets for my job and it was beautiful, the water is aqua in colour, there was snow on the mountains everywhere, the forests floors were filled with so many different forms of fungi and I thankfully I did not see any rodents. The lakes are filled with so much fresh glacial water and it is the most beautiful place with native trees dressed in their autumn hues.
It is just down the road from our place. I think they were all a kind of bug/midge group? They looked so pretty in the light I had to snap them! Patagonia sounds amazing…so beautiful!
Great day for it. Thursdays are my only child free/work free me days and I’m normally inside doing the housework. But too beautiful for that today. Took the dogs for a walk up to the back paddock, only a 2k walk for me, maybe 6k for them and lots of rabbits to chase. I resist country life, but today was one of those ones that go towards my reluctant falling in love with it.
It was impossible not to! Looks like another cracker is on the way!
And because with your holiday coming up you have so much time on your hands to be planning the fundraiser for 130…. Over Commitment at it’s best – well done!! ha ha ha ha.
Sound familiar? You’d do the same!
This is where I am so grateful for my little one. She makes me get outside multiple times a day <3
Soak it up Jackie π
I’m actually in Sydney very briefly for a wedding so I’m trotting around with my backpack in the sun cafe hopping and working. It’s very pleasant.
Enjoy beautiful woman x
Hi Beth
As they say ‘this too shall pass’, hope you get some downtime soon.
Love these photos, reminds me of my childhood on the farm, and my grandparents place, delightful.

It will Debbie – you’re so right!
Great photos. I love being outside too. Just sitting in the sunshine watching my girls play outside is one of my favourite things to do in the afternoon.
Such a lovely thing to do – hope you have lots of time to do it this weekend π
