Things I like {the Christmas edition}

1. Christmas activities outsourced by Grandparents. Craft or otherwise.

2. A festive table setting. Mum was heavy on the gold and red this year.

3. Champagne. Lucky if you can get the bottle to coordinate with the setting. Thanks for the bottle of French Aunty June, we loved it.

4. An oyster to start with. These were particularly good with a lime, cucumber and Hendricks dressing.

5. A prawn cocktail. This was a variation on the classic with some mango thrown in for good measure all whacked out on a big platter for people to help themselves to. As I said yesterday, you just can’t go wrong with a prawn, some mayo and dill. I’m thinking about getting some t-shirts made up.

6. New Christmas presents. My sister-in-law nailed it for Daise with a new gymnastic leotard that featured crushed velvet AND sequins. We had repeat performances all afternoon.

7. Pork. DER.

8. Pudding. In all its forms. This one was created by my little sister. Cover of this month’s Delicious I believe. Freaking TASTY.

9. See Daisy FINALLY master the plait after months and months of only being able to twirl. It was a Christmas miracle!

So much to like this time of year isn’t there? I like that I am about to go and have a lie down. What are you liking?

Merry Christmas to you too! I do like that…very much! IN FACT I had a 1 hour snooze this afternoon…unheard of for me!

  2. Gibbergunyah says

Tell me about the pickles served with the pork. Were they yours (as per recipe)? Was it a good combo?

    • BabyMacBlogBeth says

These were just ye olde steamed zucchini…nothing as fancy as a pickle! Although that would be a nice little side for some pork…

  3. Alli @ ducks on the dam says

Ah the sparkle leotard wins every time.

  4. Lisa Mckenzie says

Lovely that mango prawn cocktail looks yummo and Daisy you clever girl and that leotard Fantastic xx

  5. These are delicious food, I would like to taste, Enjoy your holidays..

  6. We managed to have 2 bottles of French Champagne on Christmas Day. This made me very happy (and very sneaky as I was in charge of pouring and you can guess who got the most). My husband also made some kick ass garlic/chilli/coriander prawns. So good, 2kg worth were demolished as a starter. Loving your take on the prawn cocktail, going to give that a go.
