Lazy Saturdays with people that you love

Are perhaps the very best kind of Saturdays to have. Don’t you think? We picked some apples and made some crumble.

We drank some champagne. OK, a little more than some.

Made some home made pizzas.

Read some books.

Hung out with Kevin Bacon.

And ate some of the sweetest lamb I’ve ever made. It was delicious.

Yes, I like these kind of Saturdays very much indeed.

  2. Sounds like a perfect day 🙂 We had a pretty great Saturday here too – a pedicure, a lunch out at my fav place, some baking, and some quiet family time just hanging out! PS – we have that book too and my 3 year old LOVES it x

  3. I also love lazy Sundays x

  4. Yes, perfection.

  5. Sounds perfect! X

  6. That guy looks a bit of alright…(can’t believe I’m saying that, I am happily married you know) Your hubbys brother I suspect? I do see a similarity.

    • Classic! No, it’s my little sister’s husband. He is currently sporting a Don Draper hairdo and looks FAB. I told my sister as much too – don’t worry!

  7. Ummmmm is Rob sporting a ponytail????

    • Good eyes! What you see there is unwashed and uncut hair since SEPTEMBER last year. He has it in some kind of top knot scenario. I’m not quite sure what to make of it, but given the fact that I am currently sporting an undercut, there’s not much I CAN say!

    • Are you saying he hasn’t washed it since September or just not cut it since then? Because if it hasn’t been washed you have the right to say A LOT!!!
My hubs went through a non hair cutting phase a few years back. It was strange to say the least but he eventually returned to normal…well as normal as he ever is!

  8. That lamb looks good any chance of the recipe?

    • Of course! I kind of made it up as I went but it was DELICIOUS!!

      Rolled shoulder boned lamb
Marinate in lemon zest, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, peppers, shredded basil, & verjuice – marinate for a few hours
Transfer into roasting pan and cover with foil – place in 150 degree oven for 2.5 hours then take the foil off for last 30 mins and whack the heat up to 200 degrees.
Shred/carve and pour over some of the pan juices!
I served with a salsa verde which was just bunch of basil/bunch mint/capers/2 garlic cloves and olive oil in the food processor…YUM

  9. Another recipe query – how do you make your pizza bases? Do you use yeast?

    • Yes! Here’s what I use:

      4 cups plain flour
      1 sachet dry yeast
      300 mls of tepid water
      4 tablespoons olive oil
      pinch salt
      pinch sugar

Mix the tepid water, yeast and sugar together and let sit for a few minutes.
Add the flour & salt into a bowl and make a well in the centre
When the yeast has bubbled slightly add into the well of flour and fold together. I use a bread knife in a cutting motion until combined.
Put onto a floured surface and knead for a few minutes.
Add into an oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap and leave somewhere warm for a few hours
Punch out the air once it’s doubled in size, knead, divide the mixture into four and roll out.

      Good luck!

  10. Is Rob knitting in that last photo?
