Oh Christmas Tree

I hastily took a photo on my phone during dessert the other night as I had a moment of “Oh, maybe people don’t know about these?” and boy was I surprised at the feedback. Many of you didn’t! How easy and fab are they? My very clever sister in law Jo trotted them out last Christmas and I was amazed how something so simple could be so fabulous and needless to say adored by the kids.

So. To impress the kids and guests at your next Christmas do take one piece of watermelon, cut into smaller triangles (usually one piece in half or thirds) and then cut two rectangles out of the core leaving a little tree stump behind. Snap!

  1. What a clever idea!
My toddler loves watermelon but even more, loves anything with a ‘handle’.

    Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

  2. Brilliant.
I love when something so simple can look a bit speccy (in my boy’s eyes anyway!)

  3. Too cool for school (-:
    I am SO doing these!!!

  4. Told my mummy girlfriends about these. Everyone very excited. Summery, cool & healthy. Win!

  5. That is SO clever! We love watermelon so they would be perfect for on a christmas fruit platter. πŸ˜€

  6. Far out youre clever … I will be doing this for sure!!

  7. Cute! I could probably go about sculpting a few… but they would last maybe 5 seconds flat with my gutsy boys. Maybe a platter display for Christmas would be the trick xo

  8. LOVE IT!

Sadly my kids don;t eat watermelon πŸ˜›
