A change of seasons (at last!)

This morning it finally felt like it was late April. I have been very keen for autumn to start and for the warm weather to be over. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of summer – love it in fact – it’s just that I love summer in summer and not in Autumn. It’s the virgo in me that comes out I think – organisation and all that? In any case, this morning it was cool for the first time, and it FINALLY feels like winter is a coming. I am sure I will be over winter soon enough, but right now I am digging winter and cool weather, and socks and maybe even having to get the heater out and on.

Had a great weekend – very quiet and spent mostly at home, but it was just what this lady needed. Saturday I think I stayed in my pj’s for as long as possible, reading papers and hanging with Daise and cooking. We had Rob’s mum over for dinner where I made Chatty’s Meatloaf that she kindly emailed me the recipe for. It was perfection and just as good as I hoped. The sandwiches that were made from the leftovers were possibly even better….it will be made again, and soon! I even trotted out a home made caramel sauce with ice cream and crepes for dessert which were preeeety tasty if I don’t mind saying so myself. What can I say? I am pregnant. And a piggy. I crave bad foods when pregnant and have not lost weight during my pregnancy. And it was tasty. So there.

Yesterday we had a fabulous lunch at an old friend from school’s place in the Eastern suburbs. They honestly live in the most amazing house by the harbour that overlooks the city, the entire harbour, and everything beautiful that Sydney has to offer. We had an amazing lunch, a great chat around the table, and time playing with all our little kids. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon.

This morning it was hard to get out of bed and face another week. I think it was because it was so cold out. Even Daisy said to me “no school today. Daisy stay at home with Mum.” Talk about breaking your heart all before 7am on a Monday. But we will get through it and at the end of the week we have a mystery weekend away that I booked a month ago that Rob and Daisy have no idea about (well they know we are going somwhere but don’t know details). Friday and Sat nights – watch this space! Should be good fun, and certainly something to help me get through the week.
