Weekends filled with local goodness

What a fabulous weekend I was lucky enough to just enjoy…started off on Friday with a misty, cold and desperately needed rainy day. Absolute heaven to see the rain fall, the mist roll in and for temperatures to sit below the 10 degree mark for most of the day. I even got excited by lighting the fire after a few weeks without it…never doesn’t feel special for me.

Once the kids were home from School Lucy and I jumped in the car and headed over to Bundanoon for a special weekend for my Aunty’s 60th that was over a year in the planning. More details on that to follow…we had such a special time with all the females from my Mum’s side of the family all coming together to celebrate. We were booked in at the Bundanoon Guest House (just 25 mins from home for us) so even better!

Saturday we got to spend the morning checking out some local shops (without any kids it was a real treat to meander and look leisurely). We went to the Summerhouse Store in Exeter…

And then onto Bendooley Estate in Berrima for a lunch. So nice to spend time with our oldest sister who was also up from Melbourne and my sister in law from Sydney. We had a special dinner Saturday night…more details on the weekend to follow.

Then when we got home early yesterday morning it was time to pack up a picnic basket and head to our first village carrot picnic which was great fun. Lots of lawn games for the kids, Pimms and picnics for the adults and a chance to meet up and catch up with friends new and old.

We continued on to the pub for some more cheer and an early dinner before getting home, getting the fire on and getting to bed nice and early.

While nor much washing got done and my to-do list is overflowing with work this Monday morning, I have a full heart and happy soul, that’s for sure.

How was your weekend?
Get up to anything extra special?
How’s the state of your washing pile?

  1. My weekend was hectic as usual. Family birthday on Saturday and more damn digging on Sunday. I swear I’m sick of outside renovations … but it will be lovely when it’s all done … hopefully in time for Christmas. The inside … well that didn’t get touched, so I’m looking at vacuuming and a load of washing or two per night for the rest of the week.

Your weekend looks much more relaxing. Love all the photos. Family time is the best, isn’t it?
