Things I like {The 7th March 2014 edition}

1. New spectacles for their clarity. I even have prescription sunglasses now (they have a touch of the crazy old woman about them too). Because I am 87. I tell you what, having the right prescription is like taking a big old swill of a G&T…you can just feel your eyes relax.

2. Finding out the results of our efforts at the local show. Today!

3. New cushions, because: NEW CUSHIONS.

4. And a new rug picked up a week or so ago that makes me smile each and every time I look at it. A sure sign of a successful purchase.

5. Sunshine! This morning it’s pouring in the windows and I am drinking it in.

6. This stuff has been my saviour since I really hurt my shoulder over 2 weeks ago. It’s been such a bad injury…caused by exercise…which has rendered me incapable of ANYTHING. I have never had an injury before and I must say I’m not the most patient person. I keep over doing it with normal stuff which sets me back a few days…it’s two steps forward a couple back. What this means is that I broke the chain on my chart for the past 2 weeks and I’m trying to stop the self sabotage voices in my head telling me to just give up, told you so, see? Over and over again. A few more days of rest and I’ll be right. I hope. I really hope.

7. This stuff is good. My skin is still not great and I’m still on antibiotics to fix it (perioral dermatitis) but if I do have to wear make up, this stuff is good.

8. Topper!

9. Proud parent moment.

10. Driving around in a fancy pants Mercedes for the week. I feel like a fraud with just 2 kids in the back but it’s been fun!

What are you liking today?
That it’s Friday? Me too!
Hope you have a great weekend.

Comments

  1. I have recently moved to NY with my hubby and in the process of starting from scratch for our new apartment. All the homeware shops over here have a massive selection of mattress toppers! Even more so than quilts! You would be in heaven!

  2. Such lovely bedding! I have to get rid of all of ours as we’re moving overseas. It’s a killer but I look forward to all the new things I can buy πŸ™‚

  3. My new Carla Zampatti dress which fits perfectly and is totally something I’d buy off the expensive wrack …found at the op shop. $3.50. Yep. Laughing.

  4. I don’t like that it’s 38 degrees in Perth today and not a scrap of Autumn in site, however, it will be a beautiful evening for the Outdoor Movie Night at school tonight. The Kids are super excited!

    • BabyMacBlogBeth says

Hope it all went well…sounds like fun. Hope it cools down soon too.

      • Movie Night was great. I was incharge of organising food, drinks and candy bar. It was a very successful fundraiser πŸ™‚ The kids loved Despicable Me 2.

  5. Annette Hill says

I like your list Beth – except for the sucky shoulder injury. Those cushions are pretty sweet and I really know what you mean about a purchase that makes you smile day after day. Good luck with the show results!

  6. I am liking the fact I get to eat lunch in an hour.. on a detox and food is all I can think about πŸ™‚

    • BabyMacBlogBeth says

Oh yes! I was texting my little sis the other day who was fasting and she said she could have eaten her keyboard!!

  7. Ooh, yes, good luck in the show! So exciting πŸ™‚
PS love that rug! So much colour!

  8. Maxabella says

    Exercise is nasty. x

  9. I must be 89 then if you’re 87 because I’ve had my prescription sunnies for two years. Love them. I can see, and not be blinded by the sun at the same time. Winner. Today I am liking my three year old being asleep after she managed to harass other patrons at the cafe we were lunching at, as well as destroy one of the water features. Never taking my threenager out to lunch EBBAH EBBAH again.

  10. Margaret Elvis says

Love the cushions and love the rug but NOT the sunshine (38ΒΊC in Perth today and now officially 96 days without rain).
Sorry about the shoulder. I dislocated mine over 2 years ago and being an oldie (it took yonks to mend and is still not right). If you are 87 then that must make me about 150 so I am sure you will mend soon as long as you take care and don’t overdo it. After all, you are just a kid compared to me. : )
Nice to see a Mum proud of her youngster’s achievement..aren’t kids wonderful?
I wonder if Pain Away would help my back, knee, shoulders etc? May try it.
Hope your skin soon clears up as make-up, though perhaps necessary, is probably not the best thing to use.
Look forward to finding out your Show results too. Hope you did well.
    Enjoy your weekend. x

    • BabyMacBlogBeth says

The pain away would be worth a try..it’s like an arthritis cream that my Mum uses and I have found it’s quite good. I think the Australian cricket team use it too?! Have a look at the chemist. Thanks Mimsie…have a great weekend. Hope it cools down soon x

  11. Lisa Mckenzie says
