Chilli tuna dip with dukkah

My good friend Mrs Munro trotted out this dip on Australia day for the cricket match picnic. I am not usually one for a fish dip (aka salmon mousse or the like) but she assured me and my little sis that it was good. REALLY good. Served up with some cut sourdough we took one scoop and were sold. DEAR GOD is it good. It could be the chilli oil, it could be the dukkah (OF COURSE IT’S THE DUKKAH) it could be the tuna. Who knows? All I DO know is that the stars align when these ingredients combine and you need to embrace it at your very next drinks function or pre dinner nibbles. Actually, just make it and keep it in the fridge and spread it on a wrap with some simple salad leaves for lunch. Just do it. Am I clear? Good. I believe that the original recipe is from Donna Hay.

Chilli tuna dip with Dukkah

1 block cream cheese (250 grams)
2 tins tuna in chilli oil
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Salt & pepper
Dukkah

1. Drain the oil from the tuna and set aside (you’ll need it later) and whack all ingredients into a food processor

2. Blend for a few moments until all combined (a min or so)

3. Spoon into a serving bowl, pour over the chilli oil and sprinkle generously with dukkah. You’re done. DEAD SET YOU ARE DONE.

4. Serve with crackers, or sliced quality sourdough or baguette…anything to get it in your belly really.

My little sister got back home after the Australia Day holiday and the first thing she did was whip this up. Yes, it was that good. And Mrs Munro is well worth a follow on Instagram for interesting crafty projects and legitimate country experiences (she is the real deal, I am but a mere show pony). Her user name is @mrsbmunro.

Are you a fan of a fish type dip?
Will you make this for me? Promise?
